Private letter from Rodrigo Carreño to Esteban Saco.

The author gives indications of how the recipient should proceed so that a particular document is accepted, and tells how he and some friends have acted on his behalf.

The defendant in this process was Miguel de Yuste, resident in Cañaveras (Cuenca). He was accused of the crime of propositions, for asserting that he did not believe in God. In the process, only this letter was preserved, written by Rodrigo Carreño, his father. In the top margin of the letter two notes written by different hands appear: on the left, "Against Miguel de Yuste, son of Rodrigo Carreño, Cañaveras neighbor, who said he did not believe in God. Esteban Saco gave this to me"; and to the right, "Cañaveras".
