Author(s) | Juan Luis Argente |

Addressee(s) | Francisco Juan Argente |
In English | Letter from Juan Luis Argente to his brother Francisco Juan Argente, a monk. The author advises his brother Francisco Juan Argente to reflect on everything that is happening to him, and recommends him to return to his monastery, or, if he still wants to continue with his studies, to go to Paris or to Italy. The defendant of this process was Francisco Juan Argente, Bernardine monk of the Monastery of Valldigna (Valencia). He was accused of the crime of heretical propositions, but his process was eventually suspended. The letter he was sent to the prison of the Holy Office in Cuenca from his brother Juan Luis Argente was joined to the proceedings as a proof that, if released on probation, the prisoner would have probably run away from the realms of Castile. |
