Addressee(s) | Lorenzo Carballo Osorio |
In English | Letter from Isabel de Acebedo, a widow, to Lorenzo Carballo Osorio, a nobleman. The author invites Lorenzo to go that night to her house to have an intimate encounter and palliate the absences they are suffering from. The litigation was the initiative of Jerónima de los Ríos, a resident of Ponferrada, following an accusation of rape and consequent pregnancy of her daughter, Isabel de Acebedo. The two letters in the proceeding documentation were provided by Lorenzo Carballo´s lawyer, who alleged the defendant was underage and therefore he denied the charges, since there was not a marriage promise. He also stated it was Isabel de Acebedo who insisted in the sexual encounters. Lorenzo went to jail in the Chancery and he was condemned to marry Isabel. After the wedding, they both applied for his release from prison. |
