Letter from María Gómez to her husband Juan Escudero, barber and surgeon.

The author pleads with her husband to return from America and to help her to look after their son and provide for him.

The defendant of this process was Juan Escudero, from Calzadilla (Cáceres), barber and surgeon. He was accused of the crime of bigamy for having got married twice: firstly, he had married María Gómez in Ronda (Malaga), and later he had married Leonor Hernández in Oaxaca (Mexico). He was sentenced to row in the galleys.
