Instructions letter from an anonymous author to Sebastião de Castro, a taverner.
The author tells the addressee to make no confessions to the court, or else to write back, telling whatever he has confessed.
The taverner Sebastião de Castro was arrested for having married Maria Fernandes in spite of his first wife still being alive. He was first married, twenty years before his arrest, with Maria Carvalha, who went to Italy five years later. She returned to Portugal thirteen years later and was blackmailing him, according to his testimony.
