Letter from Joaquina Cardois to Benito Abad.
The author asks Benito Abad to accompany her to Armentón (La Coruña) to recover her farm.
The lawsuit was brought in 1826 by Benito Abad, resident in La Coruña, against Joaquina Cardois and others, about a debt in maravedís. Benito Abad had a long list of debtors, including Joaquina Cardois, widow and resident in Santiago de Arteixo (La Coruña). Joaquina Cardois debt with the plaintiff amounted to 2,260 reales, from the purchase of five cows. The letters here transcribed (PS6122 and PS6123) were handed over by Benito Abad to demonstrate the existence of such debt. The plaintiff considered these letters a very important proof. The verdict favoured the plaintiff, and Joaquina Cardois had to pay off the debt with Benito Abad and pay the costs of the trial.
