1794. Carta no autógrafa de Apolonio de la Vega para su padre, José de la Vega.

Author(s) Apolonio de la Vega
Addressee(s) José de la Vega
In English

Unsigned letter sent by Apolonio de la Vega to his father, José de la Vega.

The author apologises for not having written sooner, and tells that he did not do it because he was ill. However, he complains that his father has not written him and has not sent him what he requested.

The sixth of February, 1794, in Retuerta del Bullaque (Ciudad Real) an unidentified corpse was found. Manuel Caro, a phlebotomist, was asked to discover which had been the cause of the death, and he determined that it had been a peritonitis, and that there was not any sign of violence on the corpse. On the corpse, nothing was found that could have revealed the identity of the dead man, but his belongings were eventually found in the surrounding area: among them there was a family letter which identified him as José de la Vega. Other enquiries and interrogations revealed new information about the dead man, such as his profession: coalman. This letter was written by Gonzalo Collado, who signed it.
