He asks the addressee to intercede on his behalf, so that he can get back the assets that were stolen from him. He especially complains about a mare of his that was wounded by his enemies. A group of individuals, a surgeon (the author of these letters), a judge, a carter and a farmer persecuted the New-Christians of Argozelo and seized their property disguised as Inquisition officials. The judge defended himself by accusing the surgeon, whose five letters were used by the Inquisition to build a case on him. |
