Letter from António Antunes, probably an official («familar») of the Holy Office, to a non identified addressee in the Inquisition of Coimbra.

The author reports on the notification of two witnesses (husband and wife) to testify at the Inquisition of Coimbra. He adds that he found the woman pregnant, which could eventually become a problem regarding her travel to Coimbra.

Several women testified that they had been harassed in confession by father João Gomes, the prior of Castanheira. He was sentenced to six years of exile but was also authorized to return to his homeland, São João da Madeira.
