Private letter from António da Cunha to [Cristóvão Vieira, walker].

The author expresses his consternation regarding what the recipient had requested from him.

The defendant in this process is the hatter and walker Cristóvão Vieira, who was caught by the inquisitorial justice because he pretended to be a member of the Holy Office. Among the letters attached to the process, there are two documenting his practices, with different service requests. Another one was sent when he was already in jail in Viseu, prior to his entry into the prisons of the Inquisition of Coimbra, on November 27, 1719. This correspondence was voluntarily submitted by the defendant.

Sor Meu Fico entregue da sCertidão da deligençia q VM em Belmonte fes nas rendas do Colmial, e vejo q VM me pede lhe mande ordem pa o Colmial de Pinhel, eu não entendo isto, porq se VM me manda Certidão da deligencia feita em do Colmial de Belmonte pa q hei de passar outra carta, pareçe-me couza desnecessaria: esta carta de VM veio a tempo q em reposta da antecedente em q VM me dizia não havia Lancador pa aremetar a renda refferida, e q o cor não queria obrigar a pessoa q a arematasse lhe remeti a castello branco hua ordem pera o corregedor obrigar a quem rematasse dictos fruitos; por esta vejo q VM a não recebeo, porem como a deligencia esta feita he ja desnecessaria; por ora não tenho carta alguma pa lhe remeter, mas brevemte espero haja alguma pera essas ptes q poderei remeter a VM pera o q me avizara no correio a q terra as remeterei, e pa servir a VM fico a sua ordem a qm Ds gde etc Lixa occal 14 de 8bro de 1719
