In English | Letter from Polonia Fernández de Córdoba to an unidentified addressee. The author writes to an unidentified addressee relating him what happened with friar Gerónimo de Guzmán, trying to remember everything in order to be as accurate as possible. Polonia Fernández de Córdoba, an unmarried woman from Membrillera, resorted to the Inquisition Tribunal to relieve her conscience of the burden of what had happened between her and her confessor, Gerónimo Guzmán. Polonia Fernández related that, during some baths he had been prescribed to do, she had touched him in 'forbidden ways', but she claimed that she had never had any intention other that charity. In this letter, she relates these facts as accurately as possible, because she considered what happened very serious. The proceedings are incomplete, so we do not know who was the addressee of this letter and why it was joined to the proceedings. |
