Family letter from Maria Luísa to Antónia Luísa, her mother

The author writes her mother asking her for 3 scarves and telling her that she knows the money was handed in.

«My dear beloved mother,

I have received your very dear letter through Raimundo and I have appreciated it indefinitely due to the consolation it brought me. I know you have received the money I sent you through fellow Jerónimo, but since you didn’t mention the rice I sent you through him too, I am not sure whether he lost it on the way. When you left to that land, you told me you would send me the three scarves but I see you have forgotten. Therefore, I remember you of the promise, so that, if you wish to, you can send them through the holder. Let me know if my sister behaved as a good daughter and if she has been sending you something because, otherwise, I don’t want to see her anymore. Goodbye my good mother. Bless me and accept many greetings from madam, sir and the boy, because they all care for you, as well as your obedient daughter.
