Addressee(s) | Vicente António da Silva Correia |
In English | Mourning letter from António Anacleto de Seara, Lieutenant-Coronel Engineer, to Vicente António da Silva Correia, a General. The author, a recent widower, lets the addressee know that his wife is dead. Vicente António da Silva Correia a former Coronel in the Cavalry was accused of contact with the Rebels during the Civil War. He was specifically suspect of stealing the map of the defensive lines of Elvas to send them to the Rebels. A search made in his house led to a set of letters to Rebels, but he justified the correspondence on the grounds of former bonds of friendship. |
