1827. Carta de Miguel José Francisco, proprietário de casas, para Joaquim David dos Santos, seu antigo inquilino.

Author(s) Miguel José Francisco
Addressee(s) Joaquim David dos Santos
In English

Request letter from AntónioJosé Francisco, a landlord, to Joaquim David dos Santos, his former tenant.

The author asks the addressee to stop testifying against his wife. He also tries to clarify a misunderstanding regarding the house he had let to him.

Pedro António da Silva, a baker and factory owner, was accused by a neighbour of offending the honour of his wife, Maria Águeda. He defended himself by accusing the same woman of constantly gossiping in the neighbourhood. He also offered a series of five letters intended to prove that the witnesses for the prosecution had been bought to give false testimony

If there is no translation for the letter itself, you may copy the text (while using the view 'Standardization') and paste it to an automatic translator of your choice.
