Processo relativo a Pascoal Coutinho, natural de Lisboa. Foi acusado de bigamia por ter casado com Maria da Fonseca e, depois, com Domingas da Silva, no Rio de Janeiro. Casou pela primeira vez na freguesia de São José (Lisboa) a 9 de outubro de 1634. Um anos depois, o casal foi para o Rio de Janeiro, onde viveu por quatro anos. Após este tempo, Maria da Fonseca fugiu com uns soldados para Angola e, depois, para Portugal. Anos mais tarde, Pascoal Coutinho voltou a casar alegando que lhe tinham dito que a primeira mulher morrera. Foi considerado culpado, sendo condenado às galés por cinco anos.

Pascoal Coutinho was accused of bigamy, having married Maria da Fonseca and then Domingas da Silva.
