Este expediente está formado por varias partes separadas de un pleito que se inició en 1765 entre Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila, viuda de Antonio Ros y Caramany, y su hijo Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila, cadete de infantería española (véase el expediente 13768 del mismo fondo para consultar el pleito original). La causa del pleito original fue la adjudicación de bienes de María Ros y Caramany, abuela paterna de Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila, una vez fallecido el padre de éste. Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila reclamó a su madre que, en virtud del fideicomiso dispuesto por María Ros y Caramany en su testamento, le fuese adjudicada con plenitud de derechos la herencia y bienes de su abuela. Por tanto, Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila solicitó a su madre que dimitiese a su favor de todo lo que ella poseía como consecuencia de dicha herencia, a saber: el horno y escribanía de la villa de la Bisbal del Ampurdán, la casa de la familia Caramany situada en la calle de la Riera de la misma villa, la Torre Caramany del término de Cruïlles, y en Sant Pere Pescador: el Mas Can Caramany, la heredad llamada 'La Devesa', la heredad llamada 'El Cortal Nou' y una casa con horno de pan, cochera y huerto. Por su parte, Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila solicitó continuar en tenuta privilegiada de todos los bienes que dejó su marido, Antonio Ros y Caramany, hasta quedar enteramente satisfecha e integrada en su dote. La causa se alargó hasta 1781.

El presente expediente, que es el que incluye cartas, consta de las piezas siguientes: a) Pieza de alimentos (1770): Causa de María Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila y Josep Francisco Caramany y Fontdevila contra su hermano Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila, el heredero, sobre la disconformidad de aquéllos de la cantidad asignada de 400 libras anuales por alimentos. En esta pieza se incluyen las cartas PS6213 y PS6214; b) Pieza de congrua dotación (1771): Causa de María Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila contra su hermano Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila, sobre la disconformidad de la cantidad asignada como su dote en 4000 libras. En esta pieza se incluyen las cartas PS6215 a PS6217; c) Pieza separada de la queja de Pablo Borés y Llorell, causídico (1771): Causa de Pablo Borés y Llorell, defensor de Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila en la causa principal, contra Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila, sobre la petición de Pablo Borés y Llorell a Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila de que en sus escritos privados o públicos observe moderación en sus palabras, pues Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila ha escrito contra Pablo Borés y Llorell calificaciones irritantes, llamándolo de calumniosa conducta e insolente. En esta pieza se incluyen las cartas PS6218 a PS6225.

The author lets her son know she will not yield to his demands regarding the division of certain properties.

This case has several parts and it was initiated in 1765 between Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila, Antonio Ros y Caramany´s widow, and her son Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila, a Spanish infantry cadet (see the case file 13768 of the same archival fond to consult the original litigation). The cause of the original litigation was the adjudication of properties from María Ros y Caramany, Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila´s paternal grandmother, once his father passed away. Salvador Caramany y Fontevidela claimed to his mother that in accordance with the dispositions in his grandmother´ will, the properties from the latter should be adjudicated to him with full rights. Therefore, Salvador Caramany y Fontevidela asked his mother to renounce all the properties she owned as a consequence of the aforementioned inheritance and give it away to him. These properties consisted in: the bakery and the Notary´s Office in the village of Bisbal del Ampurdán, the Caramany´s family house in the same village located in Riera street, the Caramany Tower in Cruïlles; and in San Pere Pescador: the Mas Can Caramany, the homestead called 'La Devesa', the homestead called 'El Cortal Nou', and a house with a bread oven, a carriage house and a garden. For her part, Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila requested to continue being privileged trustee of all the properties her husband left until her dowry was entirely satisfied and integrated. The litigation extended until 1781.

The letters PS6215 and PS6217 are included in this part; c) Separate Part from the complaint of the lawyer Pablo Borés y Llorell (1771): Case of Pablo Borés y Llorell, Narcisa Caramany y Fontdevila´s lawyer in the main litigation, against Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila on the petition from Pablo Borés y Llorell to Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila to moderate his words in his private and public writings, since Salvador Caramany y Fontdevila has written irritating qualifications against Pablo Borés y Llorell, calling him an insolent and accusing him of a libellous conduct. The letters PS6218 and PS6225 are included in this part.
