1672. Carta de Pedro Berou, médico, para Juan Fernández Perruca, médico.

Author(s) Pedro Berou
Addressee(s) Juan Fernández Perruca
In English

Letter from Pedro Berou, a physician, to Juan Fernández Perruca, a physician.

The author explains Juan Fernández Perruca that he does not have anything to do with an exchange of medicines to provoke abortion to a woman from Herencia (Ciudad Real).

Between 1674 and 1676, Juan López Batanero de Prado was accused of scandalous propositions, and eventually reprehended. The accused was a physician, a priest, and a confessor in Alcázar, and he was suspected of having medicines which could provoke abortion. The letter was handed over by the addressee, Juan Fernández Perruca, who declared that the accused had paid the medicines for a woman, named Catalina Lozano, who needed to abort because her child was dead.
