1829. Carta de autor não identificado para Luís José de Oliveira Vaz Mexia Caiola, Tenente Coronel de Cavalaria

Author(s) Anónimo485
Addressee(s) Luís José de Oliveira Vaz Mexia Caiola
In English

Note from a non identified sender to Luís José de Oliveira Vaz Mexia Caiola, a Cavalry officer.

The author sends a house key because he is moving. He writes that in a note and makes a philosophical remark about good ideas winning over bad ones.

A former Infantry soldier and his wife, Joaquim José da Silveira and Maria Clara Mendonça were accused of stealing one of the houses belonging to Francisco António Ferreira, in Lisbon. They had received the house keys from the owner himself because he had asked them to show them to visitors. They confessed the crime. The list of the stolen objects included key lockers, windows, doors, and closets.
