In English | Letter from Fernando Pita da Veiga Rebellón, an infantry captain, to Antonio Gómez Suárez. The author asks Antonio Gómez Suárez for the payment of fifty reals as rental fee. The plaintiff of this litigation from 1677 is Antonio Gómez Suárez, a native to La Coruña, against Fernando Pita da Veiga Rebellón, a native to Betanzos (La Coruña). The respondent was Master of the House of Armiño and Peteiro Box (Betanzos). He also was a Spanish infantry captain who served in Flanders. He leased Antonio Gómez Suárez his property for four years in order to pay for the trip to Flanders. The money agreed was one thousand reals per year plus one thousand reals upfront. This letter was presented by the plaintiff to prove that the amount of 50 reals had been paid to Fernando Pita da Veiga Rebellón through the carrier of the letter. In the folio 6v of the letter Antonio Gómez Suárez wrote: "I sent the fifty reals referred to in this letter [...] and May the 11th 1678. Antonio Gómez Suárez". The respondent admitted he was the author of the letter. |
