Addressee(s) | Luís Brandão |
In English | Private letter from Duarte Moscoso to João Rodrigues, pseudonym of Luís Brandão, merchant. The author replies to a previous letter and gives some news. The inmate Luís Brandão had promised to lend ten thousand réis to Gonçalo Fernandes, gaoler at an Inquisition jail. He wrote a letter to Diogo Gomes de Lamego asking him to give this amount to the gaoler, but Diogo Gomes de Lamego refused to accept the letter and to hand over the money, forwarding the letter to Duarte Moscoso. The latter gave the money to the carrier, Sebastião Fernandes, as well as an answer to that letter. This reply is the letter here transcribed. |
