In English | letter from Salvador Pérez to his son Andrés Pérez. The author writes to his son Andrés Pérez to know about his state of health. This case against Lázaro Herrero, Manuel Gallego and Lázaro Prada, residents of Villalpando (Valladolid), occurred in 1787 following an accusation for the aggression of Juan Vázquez and Andrés Pérez, both natives to Galicia, resulting with the dead of the latter. Andrés Pérez and Juan Vázquez, natives to Bande (Orense), were heading to Madrid to work in the reaping. As they arrived to Villafrades de Campos (Valladolid) they encountered some youngsters from Villalpando that started to insult them and ended up having a fight. Andrés Pérez was hit in the head with a stone and became unconscious, dying a few days later (in October the 2nd 1787) as a consequence of the injuries. He was 25 years old. In the case documentation two letters written by Salvador Pérez were found. In these two letters Andrés Pérez´s father was trying to find out about his son´s state of health, given he did not know if he was alive or dead. The first letter (PS6259) was addressed to the major of Villalpando; and the second one, attached to the former, was addressed to his son. |
