Isabel de Caparroso gives Francisco García Calderón news from the convent and warns him he has not been written any letters because of the fear that they would have been seized by the Inquisition.

The accused of this process was Isabel de Caparroso, maid of Jerónimo de Villanueva, prothonotary of Aragon. She was accused of the crime of 'alumbrismo' by the Inquisition of Toledo in 1645, for being an accomplice of the doctrines that his confessor, Fray Francisco García Calderón, inculcated in the nuns of the Convent of the Encarnación Benita de San Plácido in Madrid, where he was prior. The letters wrote by Isabel Caparroso to her confessor were entrusted by this to Tomasina and Ana María de León y Ayala, while he lived in Seville. The two sisters handed the letters over to the Holy Office to have them joined to the proceedings of the lawsuit brought against Francisco García Calderón for 'alumbrismo' and instigation in 1628, when the case of diabolic possession of 25 nuns of the Convent of San Plácido came to light. Eventually, Isabel de Caparroso was reprimanded and received a warning but not a sentence, and she was prohibited from visiting and having contact with the nuns of San Plácido for eight years.
