1753. Carta de José Rodríguez, escribano, para su sobrino José Guadilla, escribano.

Autor(es) José Rodríguez
Destinatário(s) José Guadilla
In English

Letter from José Rodríguez, a notary, to his nephew José Guadilla, a notary.

The author makes a record of his illness and entrusts his nephew, José Guadilla, to present the documents which gives credit to his renounce from the position of notary of the Adelantamiento of Castile.

In 1753, the offices of the notaries of the Adelantamiento of Castile were examined, and the work made by each of the notaries was accurately inspected. One of the notaries was José Rodríguez, who had left his position in 1749. His nephew, José Guadilla, presented to the inquirers this letter, which demonstrated the poor health of his uncle, and certain documents, which proved that his uncle did not keep any documentation of his work, because all the documentation was deposited in the archive of the Adelantamiento. The inquirers eventually confirmed that all of it was true.
