In English | Letter from Juan Prieto to his wife Sabina de Cabra. The author informs his wife of his intention of coming back to Spain and asks her to carry out some improvements in the house and to take good care of their children. In 1554 Juan Prieto y Sabina de Cabra, whose tutor was Hernando de Mucientes, brought a lawsuit against Bartolomé de Nava, a native to Huete, for withholding two hundred and ten gold pesos that Juan Prieto (father and husband) had sent them from Peru. Likewise, Juan Cortés y Mora, a resident of Quemada, was also sued since he failed in delivering sixty gold pesos to the plaintiffs. They proved their case against Bartolomé de Nava by providing four letters which corroborated the money had been sent from the Indies to Valladolid. Justice sentenced in favour of the claimants. |
