The author asks Juan Crespín to pass a message to a boy.

Case against Santiago Abadía, a native to Pedardet (France) for suspicious conduct and smuggling in Valle del Cerrato (Palencia) and other places. On July the 12th 1801 at three in the morning, Cayetano García, a captain of the provincial regiment of Toro; José Guzmán, a lieutenant of the same regiment; and José de Ávala, a deputy sergeant; saw two men with suspicious conduct pass by Cevico de la Torre (Palencia) and stopped them. One of them, named Matías, managed to escape; the other one, named Santiago Abadía, was detained and questioned. The latter confessed he was a smuggler and he was heading to Bilbao to get tobacco, handkerchiefs and corduroy. When he was searched, two letters were found: one in Spanish, which is transcribed in here, and the other one in French. Santiago Abadía argued that he found the Spanish letter on the way to Palencia and he did not know who was the author; the French letter was written by himself and was addressed to his mother.
