Advice letter from José de Sousa Moniz to his nephew Manuel Viegas Lobo.

The author advises the addressee to stay hidden while his case is being investigated by the Inquisition.

Manuel Viegas Lobo was accused and convicted twice for marrying several women. The first time he was exiled to São Tomé, and the second time to Angola. In the boat for his first exile, the new Governor of São Tomé, who was also on board, nominated him a judge, even without an academic degree in Law.
