Anonymous note to Antonia de Figueroa.

The anonymous author accuses Antonia de Figueroa of having an illicit relationship with a Trinitarian monk, and of letting him enter her house while she was drunk.

In 1791 Antonia de Figueroa informed the mayor of Cuéllar that she had received an anonymous note, which had been left stuck on the wall of her house. The note accused her of having an illicit relationship with friar Alonso García Araque. The slander became more evident with a second poster, which was exposed in the public square, stuck on the pillar of one of the arches overlooking the convent of the Trinity. Suspicion fell soon on Manuel Picatoste, who had been helped by his brother-in-law, Manuel Rico. The latter had seen the monk leaving the house of Antonia de Figueroa. However, the reason of the presence of the monk was not the one insinuated by the notes, but the administration of the last rites to one of the maids. The lawsuit sentenced the two defendants to the payment of the costs of the trial.
