Instructions letter from Vicente Leitão Cordeiro, a trader, to his wife Joana Rodrigues.

The author tells his wife to leave everything in Faro and escape to Seville with her family and slaves.

Joana Rodrigues Leitão was a New-Christian of 44, baptized as a Catholic, mother of two nuns, who nevertheless was accused by the Inquisition of Judaism and heresy. She was found guilty, excommunicated and dispossessed of her property.
